Yorkshire win by eight wickets to keep County Championship promotion destiny in their own hands

YORKSHIRE kept their LV= County Championship division two destiny in their own hands with an eight-wicket win over Glamorgan at Headingley.

The Tykes will be promoted back to division one at the first attempt if they can beat Essex at Chelmsford in their final game next week.

Having bowled Glamorgan out for 182 in the second innings at Headingley this afternoon, Adam Lyth's 50 and 33 not out from Phil Jaques ushered them to a three-day victory.

Leaders Derbyshire and promotion rivals Kent are heading into a final day in their clash tomorrow, while fourth-placed Hampshire are facing an uphill battle to beat Essex.
