Football: Whitby Town lose 4-3 at Fylde

Whitby Town suffered their fifth successive Evo-Stik League premier division defeat when falling 4-3 at AFC Fylde in front of a crowd of 256.

Whitby were 2-1 up inside seven minutes as Graeme Armstrong and Kevin Burgess replied to Michael Barnes’ opener for the hosts.

But Jack Dorney scored either side of half-time and, after Whitby equalised through Alexander White, Dorney completed a hat-trick with the winner after 71 minutes to maintain Fylde’s unbeaten run.

Whitby host FC United of Manches-ter tonight (Wednesday, 7.45pm) when a big crowd is expected. On Saturday they go to Evo-Stik League division one north side Ossett Town (3pm) in FA Cup first round qualifying.
