Cycling: Malton Wheelers quartet are pace-setters in Paragon event

A four-strong Malton Wheelers crew won the fastest team prize in the open 10-mile time trial at Burton Fleming organised by Scarborough Paragon.
This course is rather hilly but the wind was in a favourable direction, in the riders’ faces on the downhill stretch. The Wheelers team comprised Paul Hickman, Steve Kneeshaw, Matthew Enticknap and Darren Felgate, who took part in his first open event.
Young club-mate Harry Jones raced at Dishforth Aerodrome on Saturday, while Rob Powel and Enticknap ended quite high up the 92-strong field in the first cyclo cross race of the Yorkshire League season at Northallerton 24 hours later. Tom Atkinson, however, had a puncture just nine minutes into his race and had to retire.
