Senior Cricket League: Tute spearheads Acomb charge to division one title

Acomb beat Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division one title rivals Sewerby to clinch the championship.
Andy Tute’s 91 was the highlight of Acomb’s innings, while Richard Sykes hit 42 in a visiting total of 226-7. Dave Sykes (4-21) and Joe Dale (4-55) then dismissed promoted Sewerby for 132.
Relegated Bolton Percy suffered their tenth defeat against Bridlington. Brid’s Casey Rudd hit an unbeaten 101 in his side’s 185. Danny White claimed 5-38. White top-scored with 26 in Percy’s 104 all out.
Heworth beat relegation- threatened Thirsk by 68 runs.
A knock of 54 by Ian Lynch enabled Heworth to make 142 against Staurt Christon (6-44).
Dan Walton then ripped through the batting to take 7-40 and have the hosts 74 all out.
Pickering drew at home to Folkton & Flixton.
The Pikes set up a target of 238-7, with Ben Lealman making 69 and Colin Frank 45 as Mark Hunter took 4-51.
Flixton replied with 219-8 as Scott Cooper made 46 and Stuart Stocks 40. Mark Shepherd had 3-49 for the home side.
Beverley Town II are division two champions despite being beaten by four wickets by in a top of the table clash with Whitkirk.
Town were all out for 136, with Ollie Grantham making 40.
Tadcaster Magnet are five points adrift of Whitkirk after a 73-run win over Clifton Alliance.
