Pool: Derwent Arms ‘B’ fight back to set up final against Hyde Park

Hyde Park ‘A’ will meet Derwent Arms ‘B’ in the final of the Malton & Norton League after 4-3 semi-final victories.

Hyde beat Derwent Arms ‘C’ while Derwent Arms ‘B’ came from 3-0 down to beat Union ‘A’. Darren Rushworth and Phil Arnold made it 3-2, Steve Mills and Steve Pettit won a tactical pairs frame, and Arnold held his nerve in the decider.

Finals and presentation night is on Monday (August 6) at Bright Steels Social Club, starting at 7.30pm.

The men’s individuals, on the same night, will be contested by Jamie Barstow, James Milson, Ben Myers and Ron Taylor, while Amy Barker, Sarah Cook, Kirsty Taylor and Dilys Wright compete in the ladies’ event.

The league will hold their annual general meeting the following Monday at Bright Steels, from 8pm. Winter registrations will be taken, and new teams are welcome. For information, phone Wayne Taylor on 07879 684285.
