Senior Cricket League: Last Dringhouses duo hang on but Beverley take honours in draw

DIVISION two leaders Beverley Town II had the better of a draw against Dringhouses in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

’Houses’ last pair were at the crease when the 40-over game concluded and, with second-placed Tadcaster Magnet making a fruitless journey to Malton, Beverley took 25 points to increase their advantage to 35 points.

For the Norwood Parkers, there was a half-century from Mike Cook (58) and valuable runs from Tom Haytack (37) in an all out score of 170.

Dringhouses’ veteran spinner Mick Kenyon again produced the goods in claiming 5-42 and then saw team-mate Chris Storey hit 77.

However, he had only minimal support in the batting category as Steve Blake’s 3-20 helped reduce Dringhouses to 154-9.
