THE York & District Senior Cricket League’s Joe Lumb XI were edged out by seven runs against North Yorkshire at Richmond.

Ryan Partington was the most successful York bowler with 2-52 in ten overs.
York made a solid start in reply as, after losing Keiran Fenwick early, skipper Sam Beales (56) and Toby Pratt (60) added 122 for the second wicket.
Partington increased the run rate with a hard-hitting 68, only to be run out by an excellent piece of fielding.
Wicketkeeper Dan Barrett made a brave effort to win the game in the last 12 overs with a quickfire 44 not out, only to fall seven runs short at 278-6.
York’s next fixture will be against Huddersfield at Stillington Cricket Club on Sunday, June 17.
