Heslerton out of National Village KO competition

Heslerton crashed out of the National Village KO competition with a nine-wicket defeat to Walton.

Heslerton made a disastrous start to their innings, slipping to 20-6 in less than seven overs.

Daley Wharton gave the innings a degree of respectability, hitting four fours and a six before being caught on the boundary for 34. Skipper Adam Spaven remained unbeaten on 16 but they were the only two to reach double figures.

Replying, the Walton opening pair were a class act, with C Mills hitting four fours and a six before he was bowled by Mark Dring for 29.

His fellow opener also hit four fours and a six to remain unbeaten at the close on 32.

In the next round Walton host Staxton.
