Yorkshire heading for first innings deficit against Kent at tea
4:18pm Friday 27th April 2012 in Sport By Chris Parrott
YORKSHIRE took four wickets in the afternoon session on day two of their game with Kent, but it’s still their hosts who are in charge in LV= County Championship division two.
This is after they reached the interval on 209-5 in their first-innings at Canterbury, to trail by only 38 runs.
Brendan Nash did most of the damage with an unbeaten 55 at the St Lawrence Ground, whilst Geraint Jones was the other man unbeaten at tea, on 29.
Ajmal Shahzad was the pick of the Yorkshire bowlers during the second session of play, removing Sam Northeast for 26.
Tim Bresnan, Ryan Sidebottom and Steve Patterson also struck on another blowy day.
However, with 32 overs of the day left, Kent are in a good position to secure a sizeable first-innings lead by the close.
