Simon Dyson on the up in rankings after finer China service

YORK’S swing-king Simon Dyson has inched back up the world rankings.
The reward for Dyson’s much improved second half to the Volvo China Open was to ascend two places and occupy 36th in the global ratings – just ten off his previous best.
And it also keeps him in his new-found slot as the fifth highest-placed Englishman in the world game headed still by world number two Luke Donald, number three Lee Westwood, Justin Rose at number ten, and Ian Poulter (25).
However, the Malton & Norton Golf Club star will miss this week’s next instalment of the European Tour – the Ballatine’s Championhip at the Blackstone club in Icheon, just outside the Seoul capital of South Korea.
The event starts on Thursday, but the 34-year-old, who tied for 36th in the Volvo Open, will prepare for the Tour’s big switch to Spain later this month.
