Nine Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers stalwarts braved the snowy conditions in the latest North Yorkshire/South Durham cross country league fixture at Richmond.

Nicola Booth, getting back to fitness after injury, finished 25th over the five-kilometre course in a time of 24 minutes and 19 seconds.

Christine Burn had another good run to come 37th in 29.46 with Cath Lumb and Sue Reynard finishing almost together, 43rd and 44th, in about 33 minutes. Over nine kilometres, Phil Utley continued his club dominance to finish 11th in 36.58 with Stephan Tomaszewski 28th in 40.10, Kevin Winfield 49th in 43.00, Rob Burn 54th in 43.47 and Geoff Bullock 76th in 50.13.

Four Harriers competed in the seventh running of the Muddy Boots 10k in Ripon, again in snow.

The multi-terrain course was mostly off-road and Les Sutton-Haigh led the team home for 35th place out of 178 entrants in 48.13 with Alan Harman 80th in 54.50, Nik Sutton-Haigh 110th in 58.32 and Ian Codling 160th in 67.54.
