Former captain of Fulford Golf Club dies aged 96

HARVEY BEAUMONT, a former captain of Fulford Golf Club and Stamford Bridge cricketer, has died in York, aged 96.

Born in Thornhill, Dewsbury, Beaumont moved to Stamford Bridge in 1946 to work for Derwent Plastics from where he retired as managing director when he was 69.

A widower, he leaves a son Richard and twin daughter Margaret. A memorial service is at St John the Baptist Church in Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, February 8 at noon.
