Ryedale Sports Club reached the semi-finals of the Scarborough & District League Cup with a 2-0 win over Cayton Corinthians.

Matty Allison opened the scoring midway through the first half after good work by Adam Hornby, and set up Martin Myers to get the second. Ryedale will play Filey Town in the last four.

The other semi-final will be contested by Eastfield St James and Edgehill.

St James won 2-0 at Newlands Park, Mark Barber giving them the lead, with Jason Harrison putting through his own net in the second half.

Edgehill won 4-0 at Fishburn Park Reserves with all the goals coming in the second half from Martyn Ferrey, Matty Burling, former Pickering Town player Ricky Greening and Chris Ferrey, the last from the spot.

West Pier won 7-0 at Scalby to move to within a point of leaders Edgehill in division one. Pier also have two games in hand. Their marksmen were James Wardle, Paul Provins, Danny Cooper, Martin Cooper and Tommy Barker (2), plus a Kevin Sunderland own goal.

Hunmanby United’s improved run of results came to an end when they lost 5-2 to Filey Town.

Ricky Tomlinson, Stuart Dickens (2), former Hunmanby player Cameron Dobson and Phil Dickens scored for Filey. Martin Jenkinson and Tom Rees replied.

Ayton got back to winning ways, beating Westover Wasps 3-2.

Daz Hastie, Carl Sample and Chris McNeil got their goals. Isaac Sands got both Westover replies.

In division two, Rillington Athletic won 2-0 at bottom side West Pier reserves thanks to a second-half brace by man-of-the-match James Lawley.

Leaders Seamer Sports lost 3-2 at promotion-chasing Whitby Fishermen’s Society.

Seamer took a two-goal first-half lead through Gary Lawton and Joe Danby, but the Fishermen came storming back as a brilliant second-half performance brought goals for Karl Storr, Jordan Purvis and Mark Swales.

In division three, Snainton won 4-2 at Cayton Corinthians Reserves.

Darren Stabler and Chris Coates gave Cayton a 2-1 lead but a first-half hat-trick by leading marksman Lee Drydale put Snainton in front and Michael Webster headed in their second-half goal.
