LIFE doesn’t get any easier for Pickering potter Paul Davison in this season’s Players Tour Championship events, writes Steve Carroll.
The 39-year-old, beaten by Jimmy White in the second round of qualifying for the Australian Goldfields Open last time out, has been drawn against former World and UK champion Shaun Murphy in the second PTC competition next month.
Murphy is the reigning PTC champion, having won last season’s Grand Final, and is a stated fan of the tournament structure.
The world number seven will be a big favourite in the best-of-seven encounter, which is being held at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester.
