A CALAMITOUS 18th hole proved costly for North Yorkshire ace Simon Dyson.
The world golf number 48 took a double-bogey in the second round of the Dubai Desert Classic that left him just above the cut and nine shots shy of outright leader, Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee.
Dyson’s second round started on the tenth and the Malton & Norton GC star picked a shot up on the 13th. But his double-bogey woe on the 18th was followed by further dropped shots on the first and fifth holes.
A birdie on the par-three seventh repaired some of the damage for a three-over 74 and one-over for the mid-way point.
For an in-depth breakdown of the Dyson swing that has advanced him into the world’s leading 50 golfers check-out video footage of his swing>>
