TOMORROW sees a battle of top against bottom in the Yorkshire Premier League North as leaders York CC take on winless Acomb.

Still looking to break their duck in the league, Acomb were being bowled out for 107 last week, 98 runs short at home against Yorkshire Academy.

Acomb sit at the foot of the table with five points to their name and the honour of having contested the competition’s first-ever tie, sharing 186 runs with Driffield three weeks ago.

The Clifton Park outfit, meanwhile, have comfortably seen off each of their four opponents this season, with newly-promoted Sessay the only team to broach the 200-run barrier.

York’s visit to Yorkshire Academy has been the only game in which they did not reach the double-century mark, but their commanding performance earned them a win through the DLS method.

Last week was no different as they bowled out Stamford Bridge for 133 in 32 overs, with captain Dan Woods taking 3-27, to win by 117 runs and notch their fourth clear win from four this campaign.

On Monday, Acomb then host Clifton Alliance and York welcome Sheriff Hutton Bridge.
