LIAM Plunkett says he feels “in a good place” with his game as he prepares to return to Yorkshire colours at Emerald Headingley today.

The England fast bowler is available for the Royal London one-day Cup clash with Nottinghamshire after six weeks at the Indian Premier League.

He is pencilled in to play in the remaining five North Group fixtures before international duty next month.

Plunkett played six games for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL, taking four wickets.

He will add some experience and extra pace to a Yorkshire attack which conceded 350-6 in defeat to Worcestershire at Headingley on Wednesday.

“I’ve been bowling quite a lot,” he said.

“I know it’s been T20, but in practice I’ve been bowling long spells or a couple of spells in a day, five overs and four overs.

“I’m good to go and feel in a good place.

“Hopefully I can perform for the lads and help them win some games.

“I’m available for five one-dayers for Yorkshire and then away for five weeks again.

“I’m hoping to put a dent in the competition and help Yorkshire win some games.”

Yorkshire face the reigning champions in their fourth RL50 match of the summer. They have won one and lost two, whereas Notts have won two and lost one.

The Outlaws made 409-7 in beating Leicestershire at Grace Road on Wednesday.

“They are all tough games, so you have to approach every game the same,” continued Plunkett.

“No matter who you face, you do exactly the same preparation.

“It’s more about consistency for us because we know that on our day we are as good as anyone. That’s the frustrating thing.

“But to win competitions, you have to perform day in and day out, which good teams do.”

Plunkett returned from the IPL on Monday. And although he has been frustrated at missing Yorkshire action, he enjoyed his time with the Daredevils, who finished bottom of the table with five wins from 14 outings.

He also believes it can help the Vikings in this summer’s Vitality Blast.

“It was good,” he said. “I felt like I learnt quite a bit.

“Obviously in tough conditions, you need to be on the money straight away. I would have liked more wickets, as anyone would. But I felt like I went alright.

“It was more tactics and learning different skills, developing a few more slower balls.

“There’s tactical stuff that I can talk to Yorkshire about in meetings going forward.”

And, finally, Plunkett remains keen to play all forms for Yorkshire this summer, as he was in early April before IPL came calling.

Plunkett has England limited overs commitments between June 10 and July 17, meaning he is likely to be available for the second half of the Vitality Blast and the last seven Championship games.

He added: “Originally I didn't get picked up in the auction and wanted to play Championship cricket. But the chance eventually came around to go to the IPL, and it might not happen again. I’m glad I did it.

“I’m not going to be touching a red ball for a while, and we’ll see how everything goes, where Yorkshire are at.

“If they are doing well, it would be quite tough on people to put me in. But I’m contracted to play red ball this year, and if I’m available to play I’d love to help win some games.”

Meanwhile, India captain Virat Kohli has pulled out of next month’s overseas stint with Surrey due to a neck injury suffered whilst playing at the IPL.

That means he won’t play against Yorkshire in their Championship match at Scarborough.
