CAROLINAE has some excellent bits of form in the book on the all-weather last season and should certainly be in the mix at Wolverhampton today if she can bounce back to anywhere near her best.

The six-year-old was twice a winner last year, beating subsequent Group One-placed runner Absolute Blast on the first occasion at Dunstall Park before following up in a Lingfield conditions heat.

Carolinae was not beaten too far on All-Weather Finals Day, either, but failed to really thrive on the turf through the early part of the summer and Charlie Fellowes then brought her season to a close at the end of July.

Returning from 154 days off at this track last month, she was beaten just under two lengths into third by the reopposing Stellar Wind, but there is plenty of hope she can reverse that form as she lines up on 4lb better terms in the 32Red.com EBF Fillies' Handicap.

Carolinae should strip fitter for the run, too, and can push on back to the Good Friday feature now.

ABE LINCOLN was quite the buzz horse ahead of Royal Ascot last year and was heavily supported to be sent off favourite for the Royal Hunt Cup, despite not having raced since the previous year.

Unsurprisingly he found it a step too far, finishing well down the field before being similarly well beaten again at York the following month.

Jeremy Noseda drew stumps at that point and Abe Lincoln was again off the track until finishing third in a decent event at Chelmsford last month.

Given his lengthy absence his connections would have to be encouraged by his two-length reverse and granted a bit more pace in the sunbets.co.uk Novice Stakes, he can strike gold for the first time since September 2015.

BLUE HARMONY was up against it with a revitalised Windsor Cross last time out and might not find the company quite so hot in the 32Red Casino Handicap.

Having previously finished in front of that rival when third at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day, the application of a visor saw Windsor Cross surpass Karl Burke's charge, relegating him to third once again.

That was still a fair effort but bearing in mind he lacked an extra kick at the finish over seven furlongs that day, switching back up to an extended mile here makes plenty of sense while the handicapper has also eased him 2lb.

TOWN PARKS can follow up his victory at Uttoxeter last month in the Westons Cider Chase at Hereford.

Kerry Lee's charge has taken a few races to find his feet over fences, but jumped well and stuck to his task admirably to open his account on New Year's Eve.

A 3lb hike seems more than fair and he clearly handles soft ground, so another bold bid is anticipated.

It could be a good day for Presteigne-based Lee, with SHEAR ROCK of definite interest on his debut for the yard in the ROA/Racing Post Owners' Jackpot Beginners' Chase.

Formerly trained by Charlie Longsdon, Shear Rock was a three-time hurdle winner for that trainer and shaped with plenty of promise on his first try over fences when second at Wetherby back in October 2016.

The winner, Ballybolley, has since gone on to strike at Listed level so that could be a decent bit of form and he looked as though there was room to sharpen up in the jumping department.

Obviously things have not gone to plan in the interim, but Lee has the skills to bring this eight-year-old back to his best.

FRANK N FAIR is already a three-times winner at Plumpton and she can further augment those statistics in the At The Races Sky 415 Handicap Chase.

The 10-year-old has struck gold over this extended three-mile-one-furlong trip twice already this season, showing the ability to handle really deep ground as well as slightly quicker conditions in the process.

She kept on for a fair third last time when upped in both distance and company, but a return to class four company can see her regain the winning thread.
