YORKSHIRE are on the ropes at Lord's.

Having been made to follow-on 238 behind Middlesex, who have won the last three Specsavers County Championship matches between the two sides on this ground, Yorkshire then slipped to 16-3 second time around.

They have since reached lunch at 52-3 from 20 overs, a deficit of 186.

Yorkshire started the day on 186-9 in reply to the hosts' 446 and lost Ryan Sidebottom caught behind to England bowler Steven Finn, who claimed his 500th first-class wicket. Gary Ballance finished 69 not out in the 208 all out total.

Ballance returned to the crease in the eighth over of Yorkshire's second innings with the score on 16-2.

Tim Murtagh had Adam Lyth (2) and Harry Brook (for a duck) caught behind in the seventh over before Alex Lees edged Toby Roland-Jones to second slip in the next.

Ballance reached the interval unbeaten on 19, with Peter Handscomb on 14.
