ROB SMITH starred as second-placed Pannal recorded another comfortable win in division two of York & District Senior League's Galtres section.

Pannal racked up 257-6 at New Earswick, Smith agonisingly falling on 99, with John Strover adding 50.

In reply, Andy Routledge (47) battled hard but Smith completed an outstanding all-round performance with 7-29 as Earswick were bowled out for 129.

Leaders Sheriff Hutton Bridge II had Alex Ibbotson in excellent form as he took 5-11 to bowl visitors Bilton in Ainsty out for 104. Bridge reached their target in the 27th over for the loss of two wickets.

The highest individual score of the day in the tier came at Osbaldwick, who made 265-4 against Duncombe Park - Matt Hattee cracking 120 not out off 85 balls.

Lewis Sansome (58) and Andy Richardson (50) also contributed, the latter putting on 121 with skipper Hattee.

Duncombe attacked the total but lost regular wickets to spin twins Ben Richardson (3-42) and Dan Ellwood (4-40) and were bowled out for 158, Alex Medd top-scoring with a hard-hitting 36.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa smashed 286-6 at Thirsk, C Stephenson making 104 and Nitikant Kasana (70). Thirsk battled hard through Stuart Christon (43) and Ross McAndrew (33) but were dismissed for 158.

Ed Day hit 103 in Tadcaster Magnet’s 234-5 at Stillington. Richard Grogan followed up his recent century with 72 not out.

Stillington were never in the hunt and settled for 140-7, Day completing a fine all-round day with 3-6.

Relegation-threatened Hovingham made 221-4 at Sessay II, Ed Robinson (66no) and Josh Prest (69no) lifting the total late on.

However, Sessay went past the total in the 41st over for the loss of two wickets, Tom Wilkinson and Lee Margerison both scoring 75 not out.

Rowntrees & Huntington leapfrogged Knaresborough II at the top of division three after beating them by six wickets.

Josh De Silva took 5-60 in Boro's 164-9 which was built around Henry Perham’s 58. R&H achieved the total in the 39th over with De Silva making 49 and Paul Horner 40.

Sean Dixon (146no) and Ed Wright (118no) racked up 293-1 for Huby. Visitors New Earswick II held out for a draw at 168-9.

Tommy Langstaff hit 83 in Easingwold II's 215-8 and then took 5-22 to bowl York IV out for 148.

Basement team Osbaldwick II made 234 at Sheriff Hutton, the innings built around a 92-run partnership between Andy Hall (63) and Nigel Rippon (64), Andy Patterson adding 30 quick runs at the end. Matthew Maltby took 4-46 and Ian Bews 4-51.

In reply, Hutton were reduced to 20-3 until Geoffrey Schofield (74no) and Andy Frank (65) combined in a 105-run stand. They eventually finished short at 201-7.

Wetherby made 182-4 at Tadcaster Magnets II through John Tweddle (45) and Neil Thomas (69no). The hosts were bowled out for 142.

Woodhouse Grange III made 201-6 in a very tight game at Heworth III thanks to Mike Gilbank (49) and Dan Durkin (50no).

Heworth won by three wickets with two balls to spare, Chris Klays (35no) seeing them home. Kewell Ford's 88 had earlier been key against Dan Durkin's 4-46.

Captain Murray Coyle crashed 158 not out in Dringhouses II's division four win over Huby II.

The hosts made 251-8 declared, and benefited from their extra time with the ball as they bowled Huby out for 206 in the 48th over. Darren Howell made a battling 54.

Leaders Thorp Arch & Boston Spa 2nds suffered their first negative result of term as visitors Copmanthorpe made 217-9, Dave Martin (42) top-scoring as Rob Williams took 5-51.

Captain Williams held out for 53 not out to see TABS to a draw at 154-9 - Adam Mosley (4-49) and Thomas Walsh (3-27) just unable to see Cop over the line.

Hovingham II recorded their first win of term after making 228 against Sheriff Hutton II, S Thakur (38) top-scoring.

Hov dismissed their visitors for 168 with seven balls left, despite F Reynard's battling 77. H Smith (4-39) and P Coultard (3-34) did the damage.

Fellow strugglers Stillington II lost at Duncombe Park II after being dismissed for 93 by Bev Nicholson (4-3) and Ethan Crusher (4-27). Jeremy Lascelles (50no) took Park to victory.
