SESSAY’S perfect start to the Hunters York & District Senior League premier division season was ended in dramatic fashion at Shipton Road.

They were dismissed for just 96, with Matthew Hodsdon leading the way with figures of 5-32.

They went into the match against York having won their opening three games and were looking to make it four as Stephen Langstaff took 4-55 as the home side made 192-9.

Tom Brooks was the top scorer with 42, but it was the hosts who triumphed, winning for the first time since the opening day.

Defeat for the leaders left the door open for Studley Royal who took advantage, going top despite failing to bowl out Goole Town.

The home side scored 253-4 but then were thwarted in their attempt to make it three wins from four as the visitors closed on 177-7.

Dunnington also moved up the table and remain unbeaten, winning for a third straight week – their latest success coming at Castleford by 116 runs.

George Drury (75) and Jack Bolam (73) both impressed as the visitors reached 238, while David Wainwright (5-46) and Connor Hyde (5-40) shared all ten wickets.

The home side could only manage 122 in reply, Johnny Anderson finishing with 3-43.

A century from Mathew Butler (104) helped Pickering dominate in their local derby with Malton & Old Malton. Kieran Bowes also weighed in with an unbeaten 60 as the visitors made 248-8.

The home side's reply never got going and they managed just 83, with Tom Croot dominant throughout ending the match with impressive figures of 6-31.

Driffield Town opened their account at the fourth time of asking, winning at Whitkirk by four wickets.

Benjamin Danby (34) top scored for the hosts but Harry Burnhill was instrumental in their demise, taking 5-38 as they reached 121 before being bowled out.

However, the visitors didn’t have things all their own way losing six wickets before reaching their target, thanks largely to 42 from Owen Goldsworthy.

Hosts Bolton Percy came out on top against Beverley Town despite Kieran Thompson (4-66) and Dave Whitlock (4-28) sharing eight wickets for the visitors.

Ian Lynch’s half century and 45 each from Tom Atkinson and Ali Rigby got the home side up to a total of 244, to which Town replied through Brad Dobson (42) and Andy Burton (36), reaching 217-8 by the close. Will Phelps took 3-61.
