LEADERS Hull Zingari kept up their perfect record with an impressive victory over Heworth in division one of the Hunters York & District Senior League.

The early pace-setters met at Chanterlands Avenue and, set 226 to win, the hosts overhauled the target for the loss of just two wickets.

Sewerby’s Scott Cooper made 71 as they maintained their unbeaten start with victory at home to Dringhouses by 87 runs.

George Wilson took 5-35 as the hosts were eventually bowled out for 215, which also included 31 from Nick Gibson.

The visitors then struggled in reply with Lewis Beasley finishing with excellent figures of 6-23 as they were dismissed for 128.

Knaresborough needed just 11 overs to chase down the 86 required to beat hosts Selby, who were bowled out cheaply thanks to Graeme Whiles (4-14) and Sam Davies (4-25).

Dave Girling then struck a quick-fire unbeaten 48 to leave Selby propping up the table and in danger of being cut adrift even at this early stage of the season.

Harrogate’s fifth wicket pairing of Will Topham (104no) and Cooper Smith (60no) put on an unbeaten stand of 152 as the home side posted a formidable total of 317-4 – which also included a half-century from George Owram (59) and 43 from Harry Stothard.

Topham also featured with the ball, taking 3-44, as he and Ben Bartlett (3-36) helped bowl out the visitors, Goole Town, for 217. Ashley McKinley top-scored with 77.

Hull had the better of their match against Ripon which ended in a draw with almost 100 runs separating the sides.

Chris Lound (70) and Fergus Wilkinson (69) helped the home side build a sizeable total of 269-6, which included three wickets from Jake Briscombe (3-53).

The visitors reached 170-7 in reply thanks largely to Andrew Lincoln’s 71, Gavin Wilkinson finishing with 3-29.

Four players recorded half-centuries in the match at Norwood Park between Beverley Town and Folkton & Flixton.

Matt Nesfield (81no) and Richard Malthouse (61) made their contributions in the visitors’ total of 246-6 which also included 37 from Tom Norman.

He then helped his side defend the total, taking 4-18 as – despite 54 from Tim Smith and an unbeaten 53 from Tom Norton – the hosts were held to 200-7 in reply.
