JOHN Dawson was the jockey and trainer in form at last weekend's Hurworth Point-to-Point.

Dawson completed a double with Dance of Time in the Yorkshire Area Club Members Race and Monsun Storm, in the Open Maiden Race.

Dance of Time, the pre-race favourite, is owned by retired trainer Mary Reveley and trained by her granddaughter Helena.

Monsun Storm is trained by Dawson and owned by Heather and David Moorhouse who live at Easby.

Charlotte Crane rode her first winner in the Yorkshire area on Fever Pitch, trained by Dawson, in the Hunt Race.

Charlotte, a third year agriculture student at Cirencester, combines her studies with riding out for trainer Sam Thomas.

The most impressive and popular winner of the day was Neville Woods in the Mens Open Race which is owned, trained, and ridden by Phil Greaves, who whips in for the Hurworth and farms at Brompton.

Emma Smith-Chaston and Harris followed up their win at Charm Park by landing the competitive Ladies’ Open.

The Restricted Race was won by See Mores Finale from the small yard of Scorton-based trainer Stuart Clark.

Askham Bryan College plays host to the Badsworth and Bramham Moor Hunt Point-to-Point fixture this Saturday afternoon.

It will be the second time the course has hosted a meeting this season and a total of 77 entries have been received.

With only 8 entries, the Confined Race could be easy pickings for Close House and Jack Teal.

The next race is a Restricted race and is a qualifier for the final at Stratford.

Rider Will Milburn is hoping to impress on Bentons Lad and said: "He's very tough and consistent and he's proving to be quite versatile. The drying ground will hopefully bring about further improvement."

The Men's Open holds only eight entries but has a couple of strong contenders including Fruit Fayre for Sheila Crow.

The Open Maiden race is the fourth race on the card and Emma Todd has a pair of entries in Rock N' Stones and New Dirreen.

The Ladies Open is the penultimate race. Qoubilai is likely to make the running and was second here last time,

Street Entertainer was a winner last time where he beat subsequent Holderness winner A Country Mile. The pair could face off again.

The final race is the Novice Riders race where it is always an advantage to have an experienced novice rider such as Jack Jordan who has form on Mickey Miller.
