SUEDOIS has been pulled out of Saturday's Breeders Cup Turf Sprint by York trainer David O'Meara.

The French horse, which was switched to O'Meara's stable at Upper Helmsley by owner George Turner just over a year ago, has suffered a stress fracture in his near fore foot.

He had been tipped to mount a strong challenge in the six furlong Grade One race in California after finishing second to Limato in July's Darley Cup at Newmarket.

O'Meara, meanwhile, is still hoping for glory at Santa Anita Park with Mondialiste in the Breeders Cup Turf.

Mondialiste became the first European horse in five years to win the Arlington Million in August but only finished fourth on his re-appearance in the Shadwell Turf Miles Stakes last month.

His victory in the Arlington Million secured an automatic entry for Saturday's race which offers prize money of £1.5m to the winner.

Significantly, the step up to a mile and four furlong is the longest distance that he will have tackled. Jockey Daniel Tudhope is again on board.

"It's a very fast mile-and-a-half at Santa Anita beginning in a chute that is part of the sprint course," said O'Meara. "I think that will suit him fine."

O'Meara has vowed to return with Suedois for next year's Turf Sprint.
