LEON SACHS hit an unbeaten 102 for Acomb II but still ended up on the losing side after their 226-4 was not enough to prevent leaders Dringhouses winning by six wickets in the York & District Senior Cricket League Ebor division two.

Alex Topham (49) and Paul Neal (38) backed Sachs, but Andrew Simpson (95) had support from Sam Lingard (35) to see the visitors home.

Jack Neil hit 52 not out and Harry Contreras 43 as York III won by nine wickets at Heworth II. Matthew Wright had taken 5-32 and Neil 4-15 as the hosts were bowled out for 108 inside 36 overs.

Carlton Towers stayed in touch after a five-wicket win at Clifton Alliance II.

Jason Gatus made 32 in Clifton's 117, James Stevenson grabbing 5-15. Mark Speech’s 38 laid the foundation for Carlton to take full points.

Matthew Clark (87) top scored as Hemingbrough were bowled out for 197 off the penultimate ball at Yapham, Mike Newhouse (4-50) again among the wickets.

Nick Edwards hit 101 not out and skipper Jack Holman 83 not out as Yapham won by six wickets.

Skipper Tom Audley’s 122 was the cornerstone to Malton & Old Malton II's essential victory at Pickering II - where they won with five balls to spare.

Pickering’s 220-8 was built around Shaun Smith’s 89. Kevin Wilson contributed 60 towards the visitors' two-wicket win.

Scarborough II’s promotion hopes faded following the worst of a draw at home to Londesborough Park, who posted 179-9 thanks to Greg Drewery’s 60. The hosts were indebted to Matthew Watson (26no) and youngster Charlie Hopper (25no) for salvaging some points at 137-8.

Ebor division three leaders Stamford Bridge II beat Copmanthorpe by chasing down the 145-9 set by their hosts - despite the all-round effort of Salam Syed (30 and 4-27).

Bridge won by two wickets led by Chris Smith (77).

Pocklington II were bowled out for 109 by Cawood’s Khalid Shefta (6-18 off 10 overs). Pock fought back but Cawood bagged a three-wicket win.

Castleford rose off the foot of the table with an eight-wicket win over Civil Service.

Ian Clish and Simon Brown both scored 51 in Service's 162, Darren Hyde taking 5-28. George Swaby (88) laid the foundations for Cas to win with plenty of overs spare.

Adam Sutcliffe starred in Dunnington II's 102-run win at Whitkirk II.

Sutcliffe (43) top scored with support from Steve Jackson (38) and Jay Snowden (31no) as Dunnington posted 211-7. Sutcliffe then took 3-32 as the hosts were bowled out off the last ball.

In Ebor division four, Luke Edwards hit 122 and Stephen Ryan 87 as Drax set Thorp Arch & Boston Spa II a challenging total of 281-4. However, they had to settle for a draw, Daniel Kilby (57no) ensuring TABS took some points, closing at 172-6.

Matthew Ainley hit 128 and Trevor Britton 95 in Woodhouse Grange’s 261-6 declared at Heworth IV.

Despite Pete Edmondson’s 5-41, the hosts hung on at 120-9, Will Barratt and Jamie Ross making 28 apiece.

Matthew Fortnum’s 80 included two sixes as North Duffield posted 255-7 against Bolton Percy II. Thomas Anderson replied with an unbeaten 123 but his side had to settle for a losing draw at 233-6.
