YORKSHIRE have taken their first-innings lead to 65 during another entertaining session against Durham at Emirates Riverside.
The reigning Specsavers County Championship title-holders, replying to 172, have reached lunch on day two at 237-8 from 60 overs.
They started the day at 129-4, with Gary Ballance and Andrew Gale at the crease. They batted fluently and gained a lead within the first half hour of play.
Ballance has top-scored with 78, but he was one of four morning wickets to fall.
Gale chipped Ryan Pringle’s off-spin to midwicket before Jack Leaning was bowled by Graham Onions.
The same bowler also had Ballance caught at second slip before Chris Rushworth, who now has five wickets, trapped Andrew Hodd lbw.
Tim Bresnan is 18 not out and Josh Shaw is yet to get off the mark.
