MARK Mierzwinski was the stand-out performer as leaders Easingwold extended their advantage over the chasing pack with a draw in the Hunters York & District Senior League Premier Division.

Mierzwinski scored 67 to help Easingwold reach 182-7 at title rivals Studley Royal.

Stephen Piercy continued his recent run of good form with the ball, taking 5-39 as Steven Walmsley (36) and Matthew Coad (32no) helped the home side reach 160-8 in reply.

A Premier Division season’s best of 7-25 from Alex Renton helped Clifton Alliance move up to second despite a draw with Sessay, who held on with nine wickets down to avoid what would have been their second loss of the campaign.

Alliance scored 195-8 which included 89 from Scott Hopkinson and a 42 for Paul Walton as Tim Hall finished with figures of 3-50.

Mark Wilkie scored 30 as Sessay replied with 121-9.

Goole Town made the short trip to Hull Zingari but left with little to show for their efforts as the home side brought to an end their visitors' four-match unbeaten run, winning by 20 runs.

Pickering were the day's only other victors - defeating York by seven wickets. David Greenlay produced a match winning all-round performance for the visitors, taking 4-37 as the hosts were bowled out for 175 - Rob Flack top-scoring with 53 - and then making an unbeaten 40 to see his side home.

Bolton Percy dropped into the bottom two for the first time since April despite just missing out on victory at Driffield Town.

The visitors had Tom Atkinson (71) and Joe White (62) to thank as they reached 201 despite Jamie Greavson (4-38) and Ollie Ezard (3-75) sharing seven wickets.

Tom Anderson replied with 4-36 but the home side held out for a draw on 183-9 which included a half-century for Jordan Caley (58).

Olly Grantham (83) and Andrew Burton (78) helped Beverley Town post an imposing total of 258-7 against Heworth for whom Graham Knott took 4-53. However, just like Clifton Alliance and Bolton Percy, they were unable to pick up the final wicket required for maximum points despite the efforts of Anthony Spence (4-31) and the rest of the attack, William Huffer (56) the top scorer in the home side's total of 196-9.
