DAN WARD, from Kirkbymoorside, is having trials for the North of England Under-15s cricket squad having shone for Yorkshire U15s this season.
The all-rounder has played against Cheshire and Wales already this season for the White Rose and, in search of North selection, has been to trials at Old Trafford, Ampleforth School and the ECB Performance Centre at Loughborough University.
His next trial is at Harrogate CC on June 23, with final selections being made next month.
Ward, a right-arm fast bowler and middle-order batsman, plays for Pickering's first team on Saturdays in the Hunters York & District Senior League premier division and for Nawton Grange on evening in the Ryedale Becket League.
A Year 10 pupil at Ryedale School, he also trains twice a week at Headingley's indoor centre during the winter on a Gold Pathways to Excellence scheme.
