ADAM Lyth brought up an impressive hundred in a rain-affected morning session on day three of Yorkshire’s Specsavers County Championship Division One clash against Somerset.

The opener cracked a lovely cover drive to the boundary to reach his second century this season, after a season-opening 111 against Hampshire.

Lyth continues his happy record here at Taunton, where he has scored 700 runs in his previous six matches.

His century came off 174 balls – including 11 fours and three sixes – and helped Yorkshire move to 167-2.

Earlier in the session, Stamford Bridge all-rounder Will Rhodes mistimed a Peter Trego bouncer and was caught haflway to the mid-wicket boundary.

Players were called from the ground at 11:48am as some light drizzle became  steadier rainfall.

As a result, umpires called an early lunch for 12.30pm, with the hope of returning to the field at 1.10pm.
