PANNAL continue to set the pace in Galtres division two after a convincing 116-run victory over visiting Woodhouse Grange 2nds at Burn Bridge.

The Harrogate side posted a mammoth 321-1 with Rob Ellis following last week’s unbeaten 171 by hitting an unbeaten 213, and Rob Smith 96.

In reply the Woodhouse second string were well short at 205 all out with Smith landing 4-56 in a fine all-round performance.

Tadcaster lead the chasing pack after an eight-wicket win at home to near neighbours Thorp Arch & Boston Spa, who posted 103 off 35.2 overs thanks in the main to Adam Gough (36) and skipper George Gibson (47).

Tadcaster (104-2) lost two wickets in reaching their target with Ed Day 31 not out and opener Simon Palmer unbeaten on 32.

Tom Wilkinson (90) helped Sessay (198-4) knock off hosts Hovingham’ s first innings total of 197-7, with Ed Robinson contributing 66 not out.

Ripon (147-1) chased down their guests Easingwold 2nds' 146-8 inside 28 overs as Matt Morton’s unbeaten 76 helped propel them to a nine-wicket win.

At Moor Farm, Sheriff Hutton Bridge 2nds (104-4) recorded a six-wicket win at home to Duncombe Park (103-10), lead by David Bradshaw’s unbeaten 49.

Thirsk made a winning trip to Wetherby where they bowled the home side out for 133 with Stuart Christon taking 6-23, and Keiron Fenwick then hitting 53 as the target was reached inside 35 overs.

Division three leaders Woodhouse Grange 3rds (151-1) had a nine-wicket win at home to Tadcaster II (150-10), with Stuart Craven unbeaten on 77 sharing a stand of133 with Marcus Smith (48 not out) in the second innings.

In a one-sided match at Clifton Park, York 4ths (93-6) had 13-year-old Harvey Gration (28) to thank as he batted 43 overs to hold on after Sean Dixon (86 not out) had helped Huby to 248-7 to the best of the points.

In another fairly one sided meeting at White Rose Avenue, home side New Earswick set Civil Service 2nds a target of 220 to win, but thanks to Arron Reid (4-42) and Martyn Hewitson (3-16) shot their visitors out for 97.

Heworth 3rds beat Rowntrees & Huntington by nine wickets after Thomas Allan (4-23) and David Baker (3-29) had helped restrict the visitors to 121. Matthew Huffer (49 not out), and Peter Fairburn (45 not out) then led the league newcomers home.

There were centuries scored by players from both sides at Dringhouses in a high-scoring draw as visitors Stillington came away with the bulk of the points.

In the first innings, Steve Crowder (116 not out) continued his fine form as Stillington posted 238-6. In reply, Dringhouses closed on 216-5 thanks to Elliot Shires' unbeaten 134.

In Galtres division four, despite new signing Owen Cowton’s unbeaten 34, Osbaldwick 2nds (167-4) chased down Duncombe Park 2nds' 165-6 with Nigel Rippon (38 not out) and Michael Thompson (85 not out) grabbing the bulk of the visiting side's runs.

New Earswick 2nds (127-6) beat hosts Copmanthorpe 2nds (126-10) by four wickets after John Routledge had taken 8-25.

Hovingham 2nds (186-4) recorded a winning draw after hosts Huby 2nds (156-9) managed to hang on when batting second.

Stillington 2nds had a ten-wicket win at home to Sheriff Hutton (103-10) thanks to the unbroken opening partnership of Tim Adams (54 not out) and Tim Jarvis (47 not out).
