YORK 3rds earned the bragging rights on the short trip to Clifton Alliance II in in Ebor division two.

Russ Bowry (63) was the cornerstone to Yorks' 186-7, a total which proved too much for the home side who were bowled out for 136 despite the best efforts of Nick Hindle (78).

Jonathan Dilks hit 33 as he helped Carlton Towers chase down Hemingbrough’s 88 all out score at Hull Road.

Matty Clark top scored with 45 for the home side with away skipper Rob Holah (3-17) the pick of the bowlers. Led by Dilks, Carlton (90-4) used up just 18 overs as they cruised to victory with Hemingbrough skipper Tom Collins (4-39) taking all four wickets.

Home side Yapham (235-8) continued their impressive start to the season with the best of a draw at home to Pickering 2nds (173-7).

The hosts innings was anchored by former skipper Joe Moore who hit 80, ably supported by Ashley Cattle (44). Ian Smith (60), and Leslie Welburn (34) were the main contributors in the Pickering reply.

Heworth 2nds (100) were well beaten at home to Dringhouses (205-7) after they found Mick Kenyon (5-23) too hot to handle when trying to chase down their visitors' target.

Londesborough Park recovered from last week’s heavy defeat to inflict a similar one upon hosts Acomb 2nds.

When batting first, skipper Greg Drewery hit 131 before becoming one of Paul Hemingway’s three victims. Phil Stothard hit three maximums in his 95 off 107 deliveries as the visitors set a target of 284.

Despite captain Dan Littlewood (53 not out) carrying his bat throughout the Acomb reply, Tom Sowersby weighed in with 5-29 to enabled Londesborough to grab victory with only two deliveries remaining.

Batting first at North Marine Road, Scarborough posted 218-6 off their allotted overs with Charlie Roberts (77) top scorer, before Harrison Wood (5-21) continued his fine form as Malton & Old Malton 2nds were bowled out for 112 to give the home side a comfortable victory.

In Ebor division three, Copmanthorpe (179-5) enjoyed victory at Castleford (177-9) with just seven balls to spare, despite Eddie Cole (not out) scoring a ton for the home side.

Club secretary John Hughes took 4-25 as Castleford were prevented from posting a larger target, and then Martin Hillyard (45) and Giles Ricks (45 not out) led the visitors home.

Stuart Baxter (93) and Keith Towndrow (61 not out) laid the foundations to Cawood’s 261-4 at Maypole Gardens.

Despite keeper Simon Franks hitting 92, and opener Neil Webster 64, visitors Goole Town 2nds (221-9) hung on for a draw after losing their last five wickets for five runs.

At Heslington, visitors Pocklington 2nds were unable to chase down the William Phelps (81) inspired 251-5 set by Civil Service. Former Manchester United player Colin Heath took 5-47 as Pocklington were shot out for 182.

The Londesborough Park 2nds (178-9) target was chased down by visiting Dunnington 2nds (179-8) with Adam Dyson including two sixes in his 68. Stamford Bridge 2nds (88-2) left Selby 2nds (86-10) with maximum points following some miserly bowling from Ben Beard (3-17), and the father and son combination of skipper Des Healey (2-6) and Andrew Healey (1-10).

Carlton Towers 2nds (127-6) chased down Heworth 4ths all out 126 to take maximum points thanks to Charlie Adamson (5-21) weighing in with a five- wicket haul during visiting Haworth’s innings.

Luke Edwards unbeaten 64 sent Bolton Percy 2nds (133-8) home virtually empty handed after Drax (134-1) took just 25 overs and one wicket to knock off the required total.

North Duffield (204-6) had the best part of a draw at home to Woodhouse Grange 4ths (117-5), after batting first Paul Johnson (66) had helped them to a challenging score.

The Thorp Arch & Boston Spa 2nds first innings score of 254-9 proved to be out of reach for visiting Cawood 2nds, who closed on 161-4. Mark Knight (91) fell agonisingly short of a century for the home side.
