HOSTS Hemingbrough were pipped by Scarborough in York & District Senior Cricket League Ebor division two.

Hemingbrough failed to use up all their overs but were led to 162 by skipper Tom Collins (60) and Matthew Milburn (57 not out).

Charlie Roberts (75) helped Boro edged over the line by one wicket despite Collins' 4-51.

Former skipper Mark Holmes hit 63 for Carlton Towers at home to Pickering II before being caught and bowled by Tom Croot.

The returning Mark Spetch (39), Scott Woffenden (47) and skipper Rob Holah (39) saw the Fishpond Field men to 259-9.

Keeper Ryan Taylor top scored in Pickering’s reply of 148-9, denying Carlton an outright win despite Holmes picking up two wickets and a catch.

Acomb II were all out for 146 but had enough in the bank to deny hosts Clifton Alliance II. Acomb opener Scott Nicholls (61) was one of Matt Mellor’s four victims, while opening bowler Joe Kilvington bagged 4-24. Clifton were held back to 139 all out by Martin Pepper (3-20), Thomas Brown (4-48) and economic bowling from veteran Simon Brown.

Yapham won at Heworth after knocking off their target with an over spare. Mathew Huffer (82), Neil Martin (65) and Chris Barratt (51no) helped Heworth chalk up 213-4. The counter attack was led by Ashley Cattle (67).

Londesborough Park had the best of a draw at Dringhouses after racking up 209-4 through Tom Eagling (86no) and Simon Dodd (57no).

Chris Evans (79) and Daniel Snaith (57) pushed hard for Houses but they were thwarted by Michael Drewery (5-19) and closed on 193-8.

York III posted a massive 261-6 at home to Malton & Old Malton II, with Kieron Bloor hitting 108, Kallum Brown 65 and Toby Giddings 52. Tom Audsley hit 118 in reply but Malt fell short at 211-8.

In division three, Giles Ricks made 57 in Copmanthorpe's 115 all out. Neil Jackson (43no) and Chris Saltmer (41) led Pocklington II to a seven-wicket win.

Whitkirk II returned from Cawood with 26 points after posting 175-8 despite the efforts of Cawood chairman Keith Towndrow (3-44). Stuart (48) and Sean Pickles (47no) shone with the bat and Stuart also grabbed 4-14 as the Maypole Gardens outfit were restricted to 105-8.

Civil Service ran up a mammoth 264-7 against Selby II, Nigel Ayre (73) leading the way, assisted by John Thornton (41), Will Phelps (35) and Graham Purdy (33).

Selby were all out for 113 as Thornton, a recent signing from Clifton Alliance, took 4-17 and Travis Crouch 3-19.

Stamford Bridge chased down Goole's 155 to win by four wickets after Neil Webster (65) and Danny Cooper (36) had set a reasonable target despite Des Healey's 5-25.

New signing Martyn Woodlife (74no) led Bridge home with four overs to spare.

Londesborough Park likewise chased down Castleford’s 203 to win by four wickets. Ian Hodson top scored for the hosts with an unbeaten 69.

Bolton Percy II, having battled back as a club from the terrible Christmas flooding, were rewarded with a six-wicket win over newcomers North Duffield in division four.

Duffield were bowled out for 137, Martin Trevaskiss top scoring with 32 as John Anderson took 4-36. Giles Anderson (75) saw the hosts home with 15 overs to spare, despite James Wilson's 5-14.

Newcomers Heworth IV lost to Thorp Arch & Boston Spa by 67 runs after the hosts had racked up 219-5 declared thanks to Jim Riley (59) and Matthew Bentley (55). Sam Mottershead followed his 35 not out with 4-14 as Heworth were dismissed for 152, Guy Wilkinson (67) top scoring.
