PANNAL opened their York & District Senior Cricket League Galtres division two account with a huge win at Hovingham - racking up a colossal 326-1 in their 45 overs.

Rob Ellis top scored with an unbeaten 171, while Andy Ellis weighed in with 80 and Rob Smith 61 not out.

Skipper David Bradshaw (39 not out) and 15-year-old Harry Sutcliffe (41) led the way.

Having joined the York Senior League from the Wetherby League, Wetherby were looking to get off to a solid start but suffered a three-wicket defeat at home to Tadcaster Magnet.

The hosts totalled 137-9, while Phil Smith’s 72 was the mainstay of the visitors' winning reply. Woodhouse Grange II posted 250-8 at Duncombe Park, Rich Winterburn (71) and Matt Durkin (50) among the runs. Park hung on for extra points at 147-9, Max Lord unbeaten on 31 backing up Jonathan Leckenby’s 50.

Thirsk’s 198 all out - Mark Cook (61) and Harry Collinson (47) starring - was enough to take the better of the derby points from Easingwold II. Despite using an additional over from the first innings, the visitors ended on 182-7. Jason Sargent’s 50 and 4-46 always kept Easingwold in the game but was not enough.

Another low scoring affair at Sessay II saw Thorp Arch & Boston Spa turned over for 142 despite Andrew Jones' 35 and Nitikant Kasana's unbeaten 34.

Kasama than took 3-32 but Sessay’s four-wicket win was built around Matthew Jackson’s 95 not out.

In division three, Dringhouses II were skittled for 56 as Ian Bews took 4-3 and Richard Armitage 3-20 for hosts Sheriff Hutton, who grabbed a nine-wicket win with Geoff Schofield scoring 32.

New Earswick beat hosts Woodhouse Grange III by five wickets, while Stillington took the bulk of the points at Tadcaster Magnet II. Daniel Cass (78) and Barry Milburn (55) kept the scorers busy in their 237. Magnets closed on 117-8.

Stillington II (145-6) had a good division four win at home to Duncombe Park, knocking off the 144 set by their guests thanks chiefly to youngster David Jarvis's 73 not out. Joe Adams had earlier taken 5-24.

Chasing 192 to win, Huby II were shot out for 138 at home to Copmanthorpe II, for whom Joel Arnold scored 50.
