NORTON trainer Tony Coyle, who has the All-Weather Champions Day meeting at Lingfield on Good Friday in mind for WESTWOOD HOE, can enjoy a Good Tuesday with the gelding at Southwell this afternoon in the feature race on the card.

A winner at Doncaster on the final day of the turf season in early November, Westwood Hoe followed up on this course last month. The five-year-old now tackles the £11,500 Ladbrokes Handicap over the same distance of seven furlongs.

Tom Queally has the mount and although this looks a very tightly-knit affair, Westwood Hoe is fancied to oblige again – and keep alive his Good Friday hopes.

Champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa heads to Southwell with two mounts for Newmarket trainer Chris Dwyer and both horses have sound claims.

PATRIOTIC goes for the Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap after finishing third in a similar contest on this course last month. He now shifts back up from seven furlongs to a mile and, as a previous course-and-distance winner, he will not be without his supporters.

De Sousa also partners YOUR LUCKY DAY for Dwyer in the Bet&Watch Every Race At Unibet Handicap.

The four-year-old took a step forward when switched back to six furlongs in maiden company on this course three weeks ago. Your Lucky Day now tackles handicap company for the first time and, in a race which may not take much winning, he commands respect.

De Sousa rode in the United States in November and travelled to his native Brazil to ride in an invitational series at Christmas.

Next stop for the powerhouse jockey is a stint in Hong Kong, starting later this month, before he returns to the UK in good time to try and retain his crown when the new turf season kicks off.

The promising, if somewhat frustrating, SIGNED SEALED (2.10) and previous course-and-distance winner RALPHY LAD (2.40) are two others to note on the Fibresand circuit.

Alan Swinbank, North Yorkshire trainer of Ralphy Lad, can also make his mark at Lingfield with nap selection VIRNON in the 32Red.com Handicap.

Neil Farley's mount will lack nothing in fitness despite having not been seen on the Flat for ten weeks. He has been in good form over hurdles in the meantime, winning twice. He should go well in this two-miler.

Richard Fahey also has a chance of figuring among the winners at Lingfield with FOOTLIGHT in the Ladbrokes Maiden Handicap.

Although the three-year-old has not shown an awful lot in three efforts in maiden company, Footlight now steps into handicap company off a lowly mark.

It will be disappointing if she cannot prove competitive in such an ordinary race, especially as she steps up to seven furlongs for the first time. Sammy Jo Bell has the mount.

RIVERS RUN may prove the solution to the 32Red Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Trained by Ralph Beckett, the four-year-old has raced only once before. At Wolverhampton last month she finished third to Sign Of A Victory over a mile and a half after weakening late in the race.

Beckett drops her back to ten furlongs this time and Rivers Run is fancied to fulfill her initial promise. Oisin Murphy takes the mount.

Runners are in short supply at Lingfield, not least in the Bet&Watch Every Race At Unibet Conditions Stakes, which has attracted only three runners. Any of the trio could win but ORNATE is marginally preferred.

The William Haggas-trained three-year-old won at Ripon last summer and went on to be narrowly beaten in the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster in September.

He was beaten by less than a length into third place on his latest start at Wolverhampton last month but that was his first outing after a break. Pat Cosgrave rides and Ornate can do better this time.
