NICO DE BOINVILLE, who enjoyed the biggest thrill of his career at Cheltenham on Sunday when steering the magnificent Sprinter Sacre to an easy success to put the former champion two-mile chaser back in the winning groove after a troublesome time last season, heads to Southwell today with good prospects of completing a double.

Narrowly beaten by Sean Bowen in last season's conditional jockeys' championship, but rider of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Coneygree in March, de Boinville teams up with Pithvier and Willoughy Court, both trained by the in-form Ben Pauling.

PITHVIER, who runs in the mrfreebet.co.uk On Your Mobile Handicap Hurdle, was restricted to only two outings last season, finishing a good second to Commissioned at Kempton on his reappearance in November before claiming fourth spot at Exeter in February.

Placed in all his three bumpers and still a largely unexposed horse, Pithvier looks to have some potential. This does not look too taxing a race for his handicap bow and he merits serious consideration.

WILLOUGHY COURT showed a decent level of ability in her one and only outing last season when finishing a close-up third at Ffos Las. The four-year-old runs in the Winter Deals At Southwell Golf Club National Hunt Flat Race and looks to have a useful chance of collecting.

Also worthy of attention are LINE D'AOIS (12.25), who won his first two races last season and plainly goes well fresh, and Jonjo O'Neill's Wetherby winner MUSTMEETALADY (1.30), who may appreciate the step up to three miles for the first time after finding things a bit hot in a competitive Carlisle handicap hurdle last time over half-a-mile less.

On the flat at Lingfield, ANNIE SALTS carries the nap vote in the opening Bet & Watch Every Race At Unibet Nursery Handicap.

Martyn Meade's juvenile has shaped with a degree of promise in her three maiden runs, not least when a close-up fifth at Wolverhampton on her middle outing over this distance of five furlongs. She looks reasonably treated this afternoon off an opening mark of 67 and is fancied to come good under Fergus Sweeney.

BAYDAR went into many a notebook when finishing a half-length runner-up to Gershwin on his debut at Haydock last month. Hugo Palmer's colt now needs to transfer that ability to an all-weather surface, but there is every chance he can go one better if he copes well with the Polytrack surface.

The first division of this maiden could well fall to ALWAYS WELCOME, trained by John Gosden. Attractively bred by Exclusive Quality, the two-year-old comes from a yard steeped in talent. It would be no surprise if this newcomer goes well under Robert Havlin.

Michael Wigham has put blinkers for the first time on STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN in the 1.15 race. The sprinter chased home Spring Loaded on turf at Windsor last time. He is no stranger to an artificial surface and should make a bold bid under Jim Crowley.

YOUNG JACKIE can lift the concluding coral.co.uk Apprentice Handicap. Trained by George Margarson, the seven-year-old has created a consistent profile lately, winning at Brighton before finishing second on the same course and, most recently, third at Kempton.

Lulu Stanford, who rides him today, has established a good rapport with Young Jackie. The combination can click again.

Also worth noting are ONE PEKAN (1.50), narrowly beaten last time out and the speedy TOP COP (2.20).
