OUT DO, a winner at York on his latest start, heads to Glorious Goodwood today in a bid to break into the big time of sprinting.

The North Yorkshire gelding, trained at Nawton near Helmsley by David O'Meara, tackles the £300,00 Group 2 Qatar King George Stakes – and, perhaps significantly, will have the services of stable jockey Danny Tudhope, who could have ridden stablemate Move In Time, a proven high-ranking performer, in this five-furlong dash.

Out Do, who has risen out of the handicap ranks, showed he was worthy of a rise in class on Knavesmire three weeks ago when he overcame trouble in running to land a competitive Listed race.

How much more there is to come from the six-year-old remains to be seen, but Tudhope's presence looks a hint worth taking in a contest in which Move In Time, winner of last year's Group 1 Prix de l'Abbeye, also looks sure to go well in the hands of Jim Crowley.

Moviesta, a course and distance winner and the mount of Paul Mulrennan, Muthmir, with Paul Hanagan on board, and last year's winner Tate Cover, who will be ridden by Malton jockey David Allan, all figure in the line-up for this cracking event, which will be completed in under a minute. Blink and you'll miss it!

The £150,000 Betfred Mile has predictably attracted a maximum 22-strong field and promises to pose punters a head-scratcher to solve.

A sound case can be made for any number of horses in this race – including LOVING SPIRIT, who will relish the ease in the ground and is likely to be suited to the return to this trip after finishing unplaced in the John Smith's Cup over an extended ten furlongs at York last time.

A winner at Chester earlier in the season, he has each-way claims for Richard Fahey and Tony Hamilton.

Fahey's ZAHRAT NARJIS (4.20) is likewise worthy of attention in the nursery with her light weight, while the hat-trick seeking TARAZ, trained by Roger Varian, may prove the answer to the concluding handicap in the hands of Freddie Tylicki.

At Thirsk, the nap vote is awarded to LADY CLAIR in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Nursery Handicap over five furlongs.

Trained close to the course by David Barron, whose two-year-olds are now beginning to make an impact, Lady Clair made a winning debut at Catterick earlier this month and looked a smart filly in the process.

She is now in handicap company against stronger rivals but looks useful and is taken to oblige once more.

Whatever O'Meara might achieve at Goodwood, he has further chances at his local course – not least with RUSSIAN REALM in the featured Breeders Backing Racing EBF Conditions Stakes.

Previously trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the five-year-old has so far proved fairly challenging, but there is little doubt on the evidence of a couple of his races this season that he retains a fair amount of ability.

This seven furlongs looks his ideal distance and he is fancied to make a real race of it with likely hot favourite Hawksbury.

Jack Garritty is enjoying a purple patch at present and he is likely to add to his growing tally of winners aboard GRAND BEAUTY in the Emma Stothard Sculptor Maiden Stakes.

Runner-up in both her races last season when trained by Fahey, Grand Beauty was a beaten favourite on her debut for Robert Cowell at Beverley four weeks ago after looking the most likely winner for four of the five furlongs. She can make amends with that outing under her belt.

Also worth noting at Thirsk are the consistent CISCO BOY (2.55) and the speedy INDEGO BLUES (5.15), who has course-and-distance winning form.
