RACHEL Richardson, who is enjoying her best-ever season with 15 winners to her credit, can increase that tally at Catterick this afternoon.

Tim Easterby's talented apprentice, who has enjoyed two notable successes at York on Gran Canaria Queen and Sakhee's Return, has also struck up good associations with other Easterby horses like Maven, Captain Dunne and King Of The Celts, on whom she scored again at Beverley on Monday evening.

Today she teams-up with SURROUND SOUND in the catterickbridge.co.uk Apprentice Training Series Handicap.

A winner at Musselburgh three outings ago, when he was ridden by William Easterby – the trainer's son in an amateur riders' race – Surround Sound has not been disgraced in his two trips since. He is set to carry top weight this afternoon in a run-of-the-mill race and is entitled to take plenty of beating under his in-form rider.

Small fields have somewhat spoiled the Catterick card but Mark Johnston and Richard Fahey will not be complaining as the lack of opposition gives the two powerful North Yorkshire trainers excellent chances of figuring among the winners.

Johnston can win the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery Heimdall Nursery Handicap, in which only three runners will face the start, with MONTSARRAT.

A son of Poet's Voice, the juvenile made a winning debut at Salisbury four weeks ago. He can follow-up under Silvestre de Sousa, who also has a winning chance aboard CUPPATEE for Mick Channon in the Download Racing UK IPad App Selling Stakes.

The two-year-old has not been disgraced in four starts in maiden company and now drops in grade.

Fahey can win with JOHNNY B GOODE in the August 14th Is Ladies Evening Claiming Stakes.

The three-year-old has run well at Carlisle and Haydock on his last two starts and seems to have appreciated this step up to seven furlongs. Dropping into claiming company from handicaps provides Johnny B Goode with a winning opportunity here.

Also worth noting at Catterick is TUMBLEWIND in the featured £10,000 Skybet Supporting Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap.

Richard Whitaker's sprinter has been knocking on the door this summer, running creditable races at Pontefract on her last two starts and previously when finishing third at Chester. She deserves a winning turn in the hands of George Chaloner.

At Sandown's evening meeting, ELEUSIS is napped to record her first win of the season in the Download The Unibet Racing App Handicap.

Chris Wall's sprinter went down by only a neck to Windforpower at Wetherby last time out having previously finished a creditable fourth, beaten only a couple of lengths, on this course.

Her winning turn cannot be far away and she is fancied to lift this five-furlong dash in the hands of George Baker.

DOCTOR BONG makes plenty of appeal in the Share Centre – Simply Easier Handicap.

The three-year-old, trained by Andrew Balding, has had only two races to date and, having finished a promising runner-up on his debut at Chepstow, went one better in decisive style at Chester.

He has been allotted a mark of 80 for his handicap bow and looks to have a major chance. David Probert will be in the saddle.

WEKEYLL came good last time out at Windsor three weeks ago by a head in a thrilling finish.

The William Haggas-trained colt now enters handicap company and, learning all the time, promises to be a leading player in the share.com – Invest With Confidence Handicap. Pat Cosgrave has the mount.
