NORTON trainer Julie Camacho is aiming to strike while the iron is hot with nap selection SWAHEEN at Haydock this afternoon.

The fast-improving three-year-old is set to rise by 10lb in future handicaps from Saturday and Camacho is sensibly saddling him this afternoon under a 6lb penalty, which essentially makes him 4lb 'well-in' in the Racing Together Handicap.

The reason for Swaheen's ratings hike is a facile victory at Ripon early last week when he swept past his rivals in a matter of strides and put seven lengths between himself and his pursuers come the line.

Swaheen had previously looked an unlucky loser in a valuable race at Musselburgh and is plainly a horse very much on the up and up.

Ian Brennan, who has struck-up a good association with the gelding, again has the mount today. A bold bid looks on the cards.

Tim Easterby and Richard Fahey could also fly the North Yorkshire flag at the Lancashire course.

Easterby saddles MARGRETS GIFT in the Family Fun Day Here 6th August Handicap. Although she was comfortably held on her latest visit to this course, the four-year-old, who scored at Ayr in April, may have found the ground quicker than ideal. She is worth another chance.

Fahey is represented by POSTULANT in the Watch On 3 Davies racinguk.com Handicap.

George Chaloner's mount got off the mark at Hamilton last time and, now that she's got her head in front, there may be more to come from this well-related filly, who carries the colours of Cheveley Park Stud.

Kevin Ryan bids to complete a treble with Cyril in the Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Handicap, but the 6lb penalty he picked-up for winning his latest race at Chester last Friday night, may prove his undoing. Preference is for Luca Cumani's BERMONDSEY, who lost his maiden on this course last month.

That was only Bermondsey's second racecourse appearance and there is surely more to come from him. He has been allotted an opening handicap mark of 82, which looks fair, if not generous. He looks sure to go well under Adam Kirby.

At Hamilton, the feature handicap is the £34,000 John Smith's Scottish Stewards' Cup, which has attracted 16 runners, four of which represent Malton trainer Richard Fahey, who has won this race several times in the past.

Fahey has strong claims this evening of adding to his score with four able sprinters, but it is far from easy to pick out his best chance. Marginal preference is for BOY IN THE BAR, who did not do himself full justice at Ayr last time, but who had finished an excellent second at York in May. He could be better drawn than in stall three, but he will relish the rain-softened ground.

Tony Hamilton, who partners Fahey's Supplicant in the big sprint, has his first mount for Godolphin in the even more valuable Glasgow Stakes, worth £40,000, on MAFTOOL, trained by Saeed bin Suroor.

A respectable sixth in the Group 3 Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, Maftool was a winner at Meydan during his winter stint in Dubai. He is a very capable horse on his day and if putting his best foot forward in this Listed contest, he is entitled to go close, despite conceding at least 7lb to his rivals.

Micky Hammond can clinch the John Smith's Handicap with DIDDY ERIC, the mount of Graham Lee.

The five-year-old finished a respectable second to Triple Eight on this course last week.

Also worth noting are Irish raider CHEERS BUDDY (6.05), a recent winner at Bellewstown, and OCEAN SHERIDAN (7.10), who bids for a quick course double.
