SOMERSET have gained a first-innings lead of 47 during a hectic third morning at Taunton, and they will be hopeful of putting Yorkshire under pressure during the latter stages of this LV= County Championship match.

Steve Patterson struck three times to claim a second five-wicket haul of the season, while home batsman Tom Cooper was caught behind down leg off Liam Plunkett for 99.

Somerset, replying to 438, went into the lead with nine wickets down and were bowled out for 485 on the stroke of lunch as Adil Rashid had Jamie Overton caught at slip for 50 off just 19 balls.

Jamie hit three sixes and seven fours in a 76-run partnership for the tenth wicket with twin brother Craig, who hit 31 not out.

Patterson finished with 5-70 from 23 overs.
