DIVISION three north leaders Sheriff Hutton were seven-wicket winners over Sessay in another dominant display in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Chris Gartland took four wickets to peg Sessay to 159-8 as the runs were shared between Matthew Wass (34), Tom Sowerby (30) and Paul Flintoff (32no). Joe Schofield's 51 and an unbeaten 40 from Nicholas Schofield steered Sheriff Hutton to victory.

Second-placed Huby stayed within touching distance with a nine-wicket win over Castleford.

Daniel Grainger took a five-wicket haul to contain Castleford to 116-9 and he then hit an unbeaten 55 to secure the man-of-the-match award.

Stillington were also nine-wicket winners as they breezed past Woodhouse Grange.

Woodhouse posted 141-5, with Luke Wilson (42) top-scoring, but Stillington chased down their target inside 32 overs with Wayne Linton smashing an unbeaten 65 as he alongside Tim Jarvis' 43 not out.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa’s Guy Whatmore took 4-26 and Luke Kilby 3-33 in a six-wicket victory over Pocklington.

The pair restricted Pock to 146 and then Kilby (31), Chris Stephenson (31) and George Gibson (28) all contributed to the chase.

Pickering fell one run short of victory against Copmanthorpe as they were forced to settle for a draw.

Copmanthorpe set their visitors 194 for victory after Matthew Morton had top-scored with 39.

Pickering’s Oliver Sigsworth (81) gave his side a chance of victory but, requiring two off the final ball, Copmanthorpe stole a share of the spoils.

A shortage of players meant Hovingham gifted Malton & Old Malton maximum points.
