Ian Giddings did the damage with the ball after Hovingham were invited to bat first, taking 4-7 to add to Stuart Hall's 3-40 as Hov were all out for 169. James Wainwright top scored with 52.

Kieron Bloor (41) and David Harris (42) ensured the visitors left with a win under their belt.

Londesborough Park’s Joe Shingles continued his fine start to the season with the ball as he helped his side to a seven-wicket triumph over struggling Easingwold.

Having invited the visitors to bat, Shingles took 4-29 to restrict Easingwold to 161-7 off their 45 overs.

The hosts' top order knocked off the runs with 14 overs to spare courtesy off Harry Gamble (31), Charles Rook (49no) and James Beevers (40no).

Batting first, Acomb set a competitive total of 220-7, with Scott Nicholls hitting 77 and James Fletcher 55, while Mike Thompson took 3-66.

An imperious unbeaten 93 from Jason Gatus underpinned Clifton Alliance’s run chase, as they squeezed to victory with one ball remaining. Thompson added 28 not out.

The visitors were invited to bat first at Newsham Road and posted 204-6 from their 45 overs with Matt Hoyle scoring 31 and Lee Wild 69.
