CELTIC fans have been warned there will be NO extra tickets available to them for next week's Champions League tie with AC Milan in the San Siro.

That's despite the fact the capacity of the stadium is expected to be increased to near its 82,000 capacity in time for the game as security improvements continue.

The Parkhead club sent a security delegation to last week's Inter Milan v Valencia tie to check on the current situation.

But the news which has been delivered back to Celtic is that Milan will not increase the 4500 allocation of tickets originally agreed.

Mindful that around 10,000 of their fans are planning to travel next week, Celtic have already requested more.

But they know it is a forlorn hope as they had to lobby very hard even to get the number of tickets they have already received.

These will be allocated to accredited fans travelling with the club's official travel agent, Thomas Cook, and the remainder will go to supporters on the away European register to ensure Celtic know precisely who receives tickets for the game.

Milan authorities are also determined to keep a close check on who enters the stadium, and will require photo ID to be shown by every fan who turns up at the game.

Security was very tight for the Valencia game, and the authorities were delighted it went off without incident.

Now, with even more electronic turnstiles in operation, they are happy to increase the capacity.

Yesterday's Serie A game between AC Milan and Sampdoria - which Milan won 1-0 with a last minute Massimo Ambrosini goal - was played in front of 39,168 fans, with away supporters and non-season ticket holders admitted for the first time since the security clampdown.

Both teams finished with 10 men, Milan's Massimo Oddo and Sampdoria's Ruben Olivera seeing red.
