OSCAR TIME can roll back the years at Doncaster this afternoon and win as a 14-year-old.

The evergreen veteran is among the entries for the Crabbie’s Grand National, in which he finished second to Ballabriggs in 2011.

Oscar Time won the Becher Chase at Aintree in December, showing himself off in a tremendous light as he gave a spring-heeled display over his favourite Grand National obstacles in the hands of regular rider Sam Waley-Cohen, who was on the mark aboard stablemate Makadamia at Wetherby yesterday.

Burton Port, another Grand National entry, is also in the field for the BetBright Cheltenham Festival Fund Veterans’ Handicap Chase, but Oscar Time is fancied to prove his master in this three miler.

Tony McCoy, out of luck aboard three mounts at Wetherby yesterday, can bounce back with three winners on Town Moor.

McCoy teams up with Devilment in the BetBright Juvenile Hurdle.

The four-year-old, a 90-rated horse on the Flat, opened his hurdling account at Wetherby last month when scoring by four lengths.

He is fancied to defy a penalty and follow up for trainer John Ferguson.

Ferguson and McCoy will be represented by Bengo in the closing BetBright Casino National Hunt Flat Race.

A well-bred five-year-old, he is expected to go well on his debut for a stable in great form.

McCoy will also be aboard Milan Bound in the BetBright UK Racing Handicap Hurdle.

A decent horse on his day, trainer Jonjo O’Neill’s charge finished fourth at Newbury on his latest start and had previously occupied the runner-up slot behind Closing Ceremony, winner of a Grade 2 race last weekend, at Haydock.

He is entitled to go well in this staying contest.

Its A Sting may prove the answer to the opening BetBright Novices’ Hurdle and is awarded the nap vote.

Oliver Sherwood’s gelding, a bumper winner last season, has finished runner-up at Ascot and Huntingdon on his last two starts over hurdles.

Opportunity may come knocking for him to go one better this time.

At Lingfield, North Yorkshire trainer David Barron can win the opening claimer with Tarooq (2.00), the mount of Graham Gibbons.

Although now in the autumn of his racing career, the nine-year-old is a five-time course winner.

Rated 98, he should be too good for his rivals.

Chevise (2.30) is another horse who has five Lingfield wins to his credit.

He should go well in the sprint handicap.

The seven-year-old warmed up for this test with a good effort to finish second here last month.

Luke Morris takes the mount on Steve Woodman’s gelding.

Sir Mark Prescott is doing his usual meticulous job of placing Coursing (4.05) effectively and the three-year-old, two from two this season, can complete a hat-trick in the featured sprint handicap.
