WORKING Men’s Club will meet Horseshoe ‘A’ in the final of the Pickering League’s team knock-out after semi-final wins over Bay Horse and Black Sun respectively.

Keith Eddon struck first for WMC, hitting three 100s in a 17-dart leg. Liam Allanson levelled but Eddon held his nerve to clinch the deciding leg.

Wins for Geoff Atkinson and John Bristow put the Club in further command, and Cameron Spiller threw two 100s, 137 and a 106 finish for legs of 18 and 19 to seal the match 4-0.

In the other semi-final, Mike Linsley (140, 123) opened with an 18-darter for Sun but Graham Steel levelled in 21 darts, finishing on 72 on the bull. Linsley missed his doubles in the decider to let Steel pinch the match.

Billy Hague (3x100, 140) put Shoe two up with two 21-darters including a fantastic 154 finish.

Simmy Cass gave Sun hope with five ton-plus scores for legs of 18 and 22, but John Spoors put Shoe back in command with a 2-0 win over John Rule, then in the battle of the landlords Kevin Wilson made it 4-1 by beating Rob Umpleby 2-1 helped by a 22-dart leg and a match-winning 87 finish.

Meanwhile, Moors League leaders Moors Inn stretched their lead to 18 points, albeit having played two games more than their nearest rivals, after a 7-3 win over Buck Inn ‘A’.

Greg Fawcett (140), Mick Barnes (4x100), Derek Bannister (100) and Keith Dickson (2x100) won singles for Moors, with Darren Marsh, Jayne Falshaw and Dave Phillips replying for Buck before Moors swept up the team games.

Second-placed New Inn had to scrap for a 5-5 draw at Sun Inn, needing to win the three-a-side for the tie.

Earlier, Mick Hodgson (140, 85 finish), Ady Cook (2x100) and Nie Monkman (140, 125, 2x100 in 25 darts) gave New Inn the advantage before Richard Wilson (121, 2x100), Martyn Allen, Geoff Allen (125) and Neil Robson (2x100) pulled it round.

Buck Inn ‘B’ came from 3-1 down to beat Crown Inn 7-3. Norm Tinsley, Steve Winfield and Darren Sunley notched victories for Crown. Mike and Georgie Peirson, Dave Cockerill and Nick Taylor turbed the tide prior to a clean sweep of the pairs and threes.

Coach House went 3-0 up at Blacksmiths Arms through Jimmy Porter, Laura Thompson (140, 100) and Bri Cook only for Adam, Lucy and Matt Durrant (125, 100) to level. Matt Cook restored Coach’s lead, Blacksmiths responded with both pairs and Coach grabbed the three-a-side for a 5-5 draw.
