NEW proposals put forward by the Readers Scarborough Beckett League committee were all carried when the league held its annual general meeting.

The most notable saw the introduction of a loan scheme for all players and conditions allowing non-registered players to turn out.

The closest vote saw clubs split 15 apiece on whether to allow two regular first-teamers to play for their respective second teams in the final four matches of the season, subject to league approval and it being “within the spirit of cricket”. As this was a committee proposal, the motion was passed and will be in force during 2015.

Bowling restrictions are also to be implemented across all divisions.

Additionally, Colin Palmer of Ebberston and Cloughton’s Ricky Nock were named as new committee members, while former Scarborough captain Nick Tubbs was elected the league honorary solicitor, replacing Martin Summers, who stood down after 33 years of service.

Meanwhile, the AGM of Duncombe Park Cricket Club will be held at the Helmsley Sports & Social Club on Saturday, January 31, starting at 5.30pm. All members are requested to attend.

The AGM of the Derwent Valley Junior League will be held at Sherburn Cricket Club (Sherburn Sports Association Club House) on Wednesday, February 4, at 7.30pm. Any club not represented will be fined £25 as per league rules.
