CHAMPIONS Newlands Park beat division one leaders Westover Wasps 6-1 in the Scarborough & District League.
In the only top flight game played on Saturday, Newlands led 3-1 at half-time after a goal by Drew McCoubrey and a brace from Danny Jenkinson. James Seymour scored for the Wasps.
In the second half, Pickering Town striker Billy Logan, without a game in the Northern Counties East League premier division, got on the scoresheet and there were also goals for Kile Fields and Dan Freer.
In division two, Snainton lost 5-2 at West Pier Reserves, whose goals were scored by Steve Sheader (2), Rob Speight, Rob Bowman and Paul Provins.
Edgehill Reserves and Cayton Corinthians shared the points in a four-goal thriller.
Josh Venner scored to put Cayton ahead, but Keith Skelton equalised.
Michael Dennis then set up Jack Pinder to restore Cayton’s lead, but Edgehill’s Andy Noon levelled matters.
In division three, Seamer Sports Reserves dropped their first points of the season when they were held 4-4 by Falsgrave Athletic in a meeting of the top two.
The Seamer goals were scored by Gareth Sygroves, Kris Tate, Matty Dawson and Danny Glendinning.
Ayton Reserves lost 4-3 at Westover Wasps Reserves, while Scalby Reserves beat Tennyson 2-1.
