MALTON ‘A’ got back to winning ways in the York Conservative Clubs’ Carlsberg UK Snooker League with a 5-2 victory over Fulford ‘A’.
Simon Weatherill fought back from 60 behind to beat Jamie Husband on the black, with his win including a 56 break.
Fulford had already gone two frames up, with Andy Marshall and Sam Wass beating Dominic Spiteri and Peter Reeves respectively.
But Malton rattled off the remaining four frames with comfortable wins for Steve Beal over Jim Lee, Phil Hart against Dollin Mercer, Dan Pawson over Sam England, and Roger Ward over Alan Reed.
Leaders Acomb ‘A’ kept up their impressive form with a 5-2 win over second-placed Heworth ‘A’.
The leader in the Worthington player of the year award race is Acomb’s Keith Thornhill on seven wins from seven matches.
He is closely followed by Mick Borg on seven wins from eight matches, with Beal and Heworth ‘B’s Martin Johnson on six victories each.
Weatherill’s 56 break puts him third in the Pasema Paving highest break standings, behind Clive Whyte’s 68 and Lee Taylor’s 58.
