PARITY reigned in a scintillating share-all in York Minster Engineering Football League premier division’s top encounter of the season.

The duel between hosts Dunnington and Old Malton St Mary’s did not disappoint.

In a tussle, which see-sawed from one rival to the next, honours were even at 4-4, the last of the eight goals bagged by Callum Richardson to salvage a draw for Dunnington.

Also on target for the hosts, who led twice after conceding a fourth-minute opener, were Will Pepper, Jimmy Wilmoth and Jonny Andrews, while before Richardson’s last reply, the Old Malton marksmen were Simon Cooke, Tom Fenwick (2) and player-manager Darren Dunning.

Riccall United went nap for a 5-2 win at Church Fenton White Horse.

Gary Collier, Wayne Brook, Ian Beckram, Chris Coxon and Mike Braithwaite shared the Riccall plunder with John Langrick and Lenny Mason replying.

Tadcaster Magnets mustered a 1-1 home draw with Poppleton United. Adam Field scored for the hosts, with Joe Dale wiping out that strike.

Total Sports United 3-5 Brooklyn FC

Brooklyn hit two late goals to triumph 5-3 at Total Sports United in division one.

After last week’s emphatic victory Brooklyn turned their attention back to league action. Brooklyn soon found themselves a goal down after the home sides free kick was saved by Andrew Slaughter only for the rebound to be tapped into the net from six yards out.

Brooklyn responded well and hit Total Sports on the counter with Tom Hoggard’s blistering pace who in turn squared the ball to debutant Marcus Godsell to tap into the vacant net. With the visitors now well and truly in control it came as a major surprise when the home side re-took the lead. A lofted ball over the top found the vacant striker, who was in an offside position, allowing him to place the ball past Slaughter in the Brooklyn goal.

Again to the credit of the visitors they bounced back and with excellent front play from Mikey Brown they soon found themselves on level terms. The striker used his power and pace to get in behind, rolled the ball to Godsell who again made no mistake in despatching the ball into the back of the net.

With moments before half time Brown was brought down on the edge of the area allowing Andrew Metcalfe to despatch a delicious freekick into the top corner to give Brooklyn the lead going into half time. The second half brought out a dominant Brooklyn but poor finishing gave the home side hope. As the half wore on Total Sports grabbed another unlikely equaliser, a tremendous effort from the left hand side was unstoppable as it flew into the far top corner of the goal.

With fifteen minutes left on the clock Godsell claimed his hatrick after linking up yet again with his new strike partner Brown. Metcalfe sealed the victory for the visitors after drilling home Hoggard’s cross from the left. Another well rounded display from Brooklyn whose man of the match award was picked up by the inform Mikey Brown. Next week the Malton based side travel to Cliffe FC.

In division three, in-form John Cavanagh chalked up more goals for Stamford Bridge as he bagged a brace in their 2-2 draw with South Milford.

Division four leaders Huntington passed a stern test when they left Settrington with all three points after a 2-1 win.

In reserve 'B', Jordan Elliot found the net for Stamford Bridge reserves but they lost 2-1 at Thorpe United reserves.
