TADCASTER ALBION climbed to the summit of the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division with a 2-0 win at Easingwold Town, writes Graham Ireton.

The victory, which came through goals from Scott Nicholas and Robert McDermid, kept Magnets’ 100 per cent top-flight record intact.

Only champions Old Malton St Mary’s can match that feat but they enjoyed a free weekend, allowing Tadcaster to move above them in the standings.

Dunnington, who have scored some commanding victories in recent weeks, effortlessly dismissed Terrington Glory to move into second place in the table.

Scott Sullivan hit five goals and Callum Richardson four as they steamrollered Glory in an 11-0 victory.

Robert Chipps and Johnny Andrew weighed in with further goals to finish the rout.

Honours were even between Wigginton and Dringhouses in a closely-fought game played at Huntington.

Both sides enjoyed spells of dominance but clear-cut chances were few and far between until the latter stages.

Sam Ripley-Kitson finally broke the deadlock when he rose above the Wiggy defence to head home from a corner but this was cancelled out by Josh Luckhurst’s half-volley from the edge of the box.

Thorpe United lead division two following their 2-1 win at Haxby. Leon Wood and Chris Harkin scored the goals after Kieran Harris had given the home side the lead.

Stamford Bridge moved to the top of division three with a 7-3 defeat of Jorvik Blades. Chris Bowles hit four and John Cavanagh a double before Robert Templeton wrapped up the win. Tim Godfrey and Shaun Curry replied.
