THE teenage Fraser brothers dominated proceedings with bat and ball as the Feversham League season ended with the Top-Four play-off final between champions Gillamoor and fourth-placed Slingsby.

The outcome was an overwhelming victory for Slingsby by 79 runs.

The two brothers scored 81.8 per cent of Slingsby’s runs, and took nine out of 10 Gillamoor wickets, with Morgan including a hat-trick.

They were named joint men of the match.

Slingsby batted first and lost Alex Machen, their semi-final hero, for one. Fellow opener Paul Hogarth was out for 18, making the score 36-2.

That was the limit of Gillamoor’s success until the 23rd over, by which time 16-year-old Morgan Fraser and 18-year-old brother Max had put on 132 for the third wicket.

Gills eventually breathed a sigh of relief when Max perished for 78, well caught by Alan Wass off Tom Munday. Morgan remained unbeaten on 66 when the overs expired, Slingsby totalling 176-3.

Gillamoor openers Connor Campbell (35) and John Lumley (30) put on 50 before Campbell tried to cut a ball from Machen which was too close to the stumps.

Then came Morgan Fraser, bowling Smith and Lumley and thereafter things got decidedly worse for Gills.

Morgan claimed a hat-trick comprising Matt Durrant, bowled, Adam Durrant, bowled, and Alec Medd, caught behind. He finished with 6-29, and brother Max with 3-11 as Gillamoor were all out for 97.
